Major Story Arcs

The powerful alien race, the Monitors (aka Marvanites) either created or came upon a series of robots, and enslaved them. The robots were rendered comatose and forced to power the Monitors’ ships as they traveled the cosmos looking for planets to aid—and destroying the planets if they were found undeserving of that aid. The pain of the dead souls of the many civilizations killed by the Monitors slowly brought the robots to sentience.

After many thousands of years, one Monitor tired of this process and freed one robot, Milandra. She teamed up with the Thing and Nova, who helped her free her fellow robots, Kalara and Askare.

Together, they defeated some of the Monitors and convinced the one who had freed them to go back with them to their homeworld, where they could convince the Monitors to stop their crusade.

It is unknown whether there are more than three of the robots. Since the Monitors were said to have numerous ships across the universe, presumably there was a separate robot for each ship.

Powers & Abilities

The robots could turn themselves and others into energy, and travel via flight or teleportation. They can become intangible in either solid or energy form.

They could shoot powerful heat (and presumably other) energy blasts from their eyes and arms.

They were powerful matter manipulators, capable of restoring the extensive damage the Monitors had done to New York with a wave of their hand.

The amount of energy they gave off was enough to power a large interstellar space ship.

They were capable of fairly quick self-repair after being destroyed down to their component parts.

The upper limit of their power is unknown, but two of them were considered to be powerful enough to stop a Monitor, who himself is very powerful.
