In the universe of the Squadron Supreme of the Supreme Power series, a second probe containing alien spores was found for a team of four astronauts who brought it back to earth, infecting themselves with fantastic powers. The spores would later spread among the world population, affecting more people and generating a second wave of superpowered beings, heroes and villians alike.

Nick Fury, Arcanna Jones and Emil Burbank went in a mission to recruit this new generation of superbeings to be a new team not only to protect their country against the dangers born of this new wave of superhumans, but also to serve as a countermeasure against the eventual return of Hyperion and the Squadron Supreme: The Regulators had been born.

However, they ended abruptly when the spores stopped to work whan a mysterious phenomenon happened in the atmosphere. All of them lose their power and this universe earth was stripped of superheroes and villians. Their story, anticlimatically, ended as soon as started.
