The Light Brigade had been originally formed by Captain Marvel in The Realm of the Dead to aid him in a battle against Death.
Creation
The Light Brigade was created by Jim Krueger and Doug Braithwaite and first appeared in Universe X #2. The team was named after the title of a famous poem about the disastrous charge of British Calvary led by Lord Cardigan against Russian forces during The Battle of Balaclava on October 25th, 1845 in The Crimean War.
