Origin

In an alternate future, Earth was invaded by Martians. Not wanting his technology to be taken by the enemy, Iron Man sent all his armor into space with the plan that no one would ever stumble upon it. Unfortunately, the rocket crashed on a planet inhabited by a primitive species who eventually discovered the technology.

They began to worship Tony Stark and even named their planet and their race after him. As they advanced, they used the suits and destroyed their planet and all its resources in the process. They became a race of conquerors, subjugating races across the universe in their never-ending quest to obtain more resources to keep up their technology, making the conquered their slaves.

As a warrior class, the Stark believe only those with honor deserve names. Otherwise, they are simply referred to as their job or duty.

Creation

The Stark were created by Jim Valentino in 1990 and first appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy #1.
