Origin
The Unvengers were a group of human-mutates created by Arnim Zola using the DNA of four of the Avengers - Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Thor. The team was made to fight the Avengers using their similar powers but were defeated by them. Sharon Carter claimed that Jet Zola had supplied his father with the Avenger's DNA, but it is unknown as to whether this is true or not.
Creation
The Unvengers were created by Rick Remender and Carlos Pacheco, first appearing in Captain America #23 - The Tomorrow Soldier Part 2. The team was created as an obvious reflection of the heroic team... The Avengers.
