The Valkyrior are female demi-goddesses who act on behalf of the All-Father in choosing worthy warriors slain in battle, and lead their souls to the great hall of Valhalla.

Brief History
They are called the Choosers of the Slain, bringing the brave who fall in battle or war to Valhalla and the cowards that died fleeing to Hel. They are the daughters of Odin and the Earth Goddess, Gaea. They typically ride winged horses and were once under the leadership of Brunnhilde.
War of the Realms & Mass Death
During the dark elf Malekith's invasion of Midgard, the All-Father Odin leads his Valkyrior into battle on behalf of humanity. The forces of good are overwhelmed and enact a tactical retreat, however Brunnhilde leads the Valkyrior against Malekith's forces to allow the heroes a safe escape. In the streets of New York the Valkyrie are slaughtered in entirety, including Brunnhilde, who is executed on live television by Malekith. Their souls are later found residing in the halls of Valhalla, escorted by Odin himself to their eternal resting place.
