Origin

After the New Warriors took on villains that they were ill-equipped to handle, Standford, CT was destroyed in a nuclear-like explosion. To get the superheroes a semblance of checks and balances, Tony Star sponsored the Super-Hero Registration Act, which would require all superheroes to work for the government. Part of the act was the establishment of the 50-State Initiative, where each of the U.S. states would receive their own version of the Avengers, with heroes trained by former and active Avengers. The Women Warriors were assigned to Delaware, after Norman Osbron took over SHIELD and The Initiative thanks to his heroism during the Secret Invasion

Creation

The Women Warriors debuted in Avengers: The Initiative #26 by Christopher Gage and Rafe Sandoval.

Major Story Arcs

Siege

The Warrior Women did good work for Norman Osborn, including saving an airport under attack with the help of Constrictor. Unbeknownst to the team and Osborn, Diamondback had been working with the Avengers Resistance, key members of the New Warriors and the Camp Hammond staff from before Osborn's takeover. She was feeding them intel on Osborn's plans. Unfortunately, she never got a chance to give them data on his plans to lay siege on Asgard. At this time, it was floating above Oklahoma. She broke off from her team as soon as they landed and was rescued by Captain America when he arrived with reinforcements.
