Defenders of Eden
The Defenders of Eden are vampire hunters that rose during the time of Solomon to protect Israel from Estries, but branched out into battling other demonic beings as well as demonic cults.
Origin
The Defenders of Eden trace their origins back to the ancient days of King Solomon, a time when the Kingdom of Israel was not only a center of wisdom and wealth but also a battleground for spiritual and supernatural forces. Solomon, renowned for his wisdom, an it was said by some, that he had the ability to command and control demons, using his knowledge to build the First Temple and establish a kingdom under divine protection. However, not all dark forces could be so easily subdued. Among these threats were the Estries—vampiric sisters of succubi who preyed upon the innocent, draining them of their life force and spreading terror throughout the land.
Recognizing the danger posed by the Estries and other demonic entities, Solomon gathered a group of elite warriors, priests, and scholars who were well-versed in both combat and the arcane. This group, charged with defending the kingdom from supernatural threats, became known as the Defenders of Eden. The name was symbolic, representing their mission to protect the sanctity of Israel, the land promised to Adam and Eve, and to preserve the divine order against those who sought to corrupt and destroy it.
The Defenders of Eden were trained in a unique blend of martial skills, religious rites, and mystical practices. They used a combination of holy relics, sacred texts, and enchanted weapons to combat the Estries, banishing them from Israel's borders. Their knowledge of God's name, exorcism and Solomon's seals, a powerful tool for binding demons, became a cornerstone of their arsenal. Under Solomon's guidance, they successfully drove back the vampiric threat, ensuring the safety of the kingdom.
As the centuries passed and the influence of Solomon waned, the Defenders of Eden continued their mission, expanding their scope beyond Israel. They recognized that the battle against darkness was not confined to one land or one type of evil. The Defenders began to confront a wider array of demonic beings, including ghouls, darklings, and other malevolent creatures that threatened humanity. They also took it upon themselves to dismantle demonic cults, groups that sought to harness dark powers for their own gain or to bring about apocalyptic visions.
Throughout history, the Defenders of Eden adapted to the changing times, incorporating new knowledge and tactics while staying true to their original mission. They became a secretive, but highly respected, order of vampire hunters and demon slayers, operating in the shadows to protect the world from the forces of darkness. Their influence spread across continents, with branches established in various countries, each working in unison to uphold the ancient charge given to them by Solomon.
In modern times, the Defenders of Eden continue their sacred duty, battling not only vampires and demons but also the growing number of demonic cults that seek to undermine the balance between light and darkness. Though their methods have evolved, their purpose remains the same: to stand as the last line of defense between humanity and the horrors of the supernatural world.
