The unknown species of living automata that'd come to be known as Class-I Independent Operation Unit's are an indigenous species of creature that serve and act as mobile bases for various alien organizations across the galaxy. Mainly as modes of transport, munition stockpiles and weapons of mass destruction.A techno-organic race in nature, these mechas procreate naturally and within a stable geometallic environment to procure their offspring.

Said young grow and develop naturally with time like any biological life form, they're conceived by excavating a form of material energy procured by the mate of a female host; wherein they consummate their passions then seed themselves with mineral rich earth and soil.

Many of these entities are often seen in the service of shady individuals or organized operations such as the Armor Hunters or Unity among others, more often than not however they're used as either forced labor a simple means of mass transport across star systems by other races in the known universe. These unit's communicate by odd symbol dialect that only other of their race can understands.

They share information and knowledge in a similar way to The Vine, via technopsychic stream wave which allows them to interface with any and all forms of cybernetics and machinery. They can also be openly modified with new technology by their hosts, like weaponry and/or living quarters, since they possess a habitable anatomy.
