The Infinity War Doppelgangers were evil, twisted versions of Earth's heroes created by the Magus. Most were erased from existence when the Magus was defeated at the end of the Infinity War. However a few, including Doppelganger and Hellspawn managed to survive through mystical means.

Though some of the Doppelgangers such as Hellspawn and Doppelganger showed only an animalistic level of intelligence, most were equal in intelligence to their super hero counterparts.
