Origin
Little is known about the origins of The Torment other than they are a race of enslavers. They arrived on Loam and captured The Vine before eventually being freed by The Wanderer. Physically The Torment are giant in size and seem to devour, but not digest, other creatures. When a Torment is killed, the creatures it has devoured can be freed.
Creation
The Torment were created by writer Robert Venditti and artist Cary Nord. It first appeared in the story "Planet Death Part 1" in X-O Manowar #11 (Mar. 2013).
