in 1993 Jozef Szekerez contracted with WaRP to do a sea-dwelling miniseries. By the end of the 6-issue opening run "Search for the True Crown" personal differences between Szekeres and Richard Pini escalated into legal disputes. Szekeres won his characters, ElfQuest retained the rights to the WaveDancers title but there were even difficulties with re-printing the issues as a collected trade, so there are two WaveDancers Tribes, though the original tribe has a new name.
