A 1987 prestige-format mini-series from writer Denny O'Neil and art by Adam & Andy Kubert.
In the late Eighties, DC began publishing Doc Savage stories and began with this try-out mini-series after Savage had previously had his comics published at Marvel. O'Neil decided to age Savage and his world and try a more deconstructionist approach, with a mixed reaction.
The series was eventually launched as an ongoing the following year (Doc Savage 1988) again written by O'Neil before Mike W. Barr took over, lasting for 24 issues and one annual.
