"A Nightmare on Elm Street" had launched Wildstorm's horror imprint and was joined by New Line stablemates the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Friday the 13th" in January and February respectively. The first "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" arc, "Americarnivore" was a direct sequel to 2003's movie, with a vengeful FBI agent investigating his missing niece while Leatherface and familyhad some new guests for dinner. Writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning were joined by artist Wes Craig, and the team created a suitably gruesome tale of Southern in hospitality.
