While on vacation from his responsibilities to the Defenders, Henry "Hank" McCoy--The Beast--encounters the Dazzler, who is trying to avoid the fallout of being outed as a mutant in Marvel Graphic Novel #12 - Dazzler: The Movie. This meeting leads to a hotel for mutant runaways, an underground mutant fight club, and a man claiming to be the son of Doctor Doom. This series introduces Gladiators and Alexander Flynn, as well as reintroducing Spider-Woman supporting character, Poltergeist.
