Origin

Bloodhound was raised in poverty in Mexico, eventually become a brilliant engineer. He worked on projects to save his dying world. Unfortunately, he never fully recovered from the death of his wife. When Better-World offered him a chance to bring his experiments to their new terraformed planet, Exodus, he accepted, along with his daughter. They spearheaded the Warden Program, a team of animal wardens with specially designed helmets that would allow them to communicate with the wildlife, helping acclimate the new habitat. Unfortunately, in his current emotional state, he was susceptible to the instinct influence, allowing the animals in his care, the African wild dogs, to influence himself more than he influenced them, eventually going feral.

Creation

Bloodhound first appears in Rook: Exodus #6 by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok.

When the World Engine failed, Better-World evacuated their customers, promising to come back for the employees. Two years later, the wardens were desperate. The only sign from Better-World was a mercenary sent to collect the proprietary technology. Wardens started banding together, but the only way they were ever going to survive was if they could snap Bloodhound from his influence so he could fix the World Engine.

His daughter, Dire Wolf, and a few others finally tracked him down. He was in an access hatch to the World Engine under a mountain. He had fallen into a trap set by Arachne, the warden of spiders. He had been taken over by his own super intelligent spiders, who used his body to sabotage the World Engine in the first place, putting them all in their current predicament.

After they were freed by Stag, the warden of deer, Dire Wolf removed Bloodhound's helmet, freeing him from the network and by extension the ferocious pack mentality of his wild dogs.
