A time traveler trying to ensure the Confederacy doesn't win the American Civil War. One of the fabled Unnamed

Origin
Malcolm North comes from an alternate 1964 where the Confederacy won the Civil War, and America was split apart. This was ensured by the actions of a time traveler, known was The Cobbler. North was recruited by a clandestine organization called the Department of Historical Preservation. They showed North footage of Martin Luther King Jr's "I Had a Dream" speech, a speech that never happened in North's time because Dr. King had not survived long enough to give it. Moved by the speech, North volunteered to time travel back to the Civil War and try to set history right.

Major Story Arcs
1864: Meeting Redcoat

The Northerner arrived in Georgia in July 1864 just in time to save a young black girl who had stolen important documents from a Confederate officer. Together, they searched for the British immortal, Simon Pure, to ask for his help saving America. Simon's immortality was tied to America's well-being, and if the Confederacy won, his life would unravel. He was hired by The Cobbler to deliver another package to General John Bell Hood, a list of actions to be done by the Union Army that Cobbler knew from history books. Northerner was only able to convince him by paying him more than The Cobbler had.
The trio tracked The Cobbler down, but he opened fire on them with his guns from the future. Northerner had similar artillery, but they lost the Cobbler when he threw a few grenades at them. They caught up with him during an arms deal with Confederates. Northerner charged guns-blazing, but Simon was overwhelmed with visions of Northerner's present. When the Cobbler got the drop on Northerner, Simon returned to his sense and tossed a grenade into Cobbler's weapons cache. The resulting explosion killed the Cobbler, but not before he boasted about more time travelers.
Just then, the Northerner was transported through time against his wishes to Geiger and his dystopian present.
Meeting Geiger
As soon as he had his bearings in the dystopian future, North asked Geiger who won the Civil War. His relief that the Union won was tempered quickly when he realized the country was eventually bombed to dust. Fearing that his manipulation of time played a part in that happening, North pleaded with Geiger for his help setting things right, proving his ability to time travel by calling for a weapons cache from his present. Not only did they receive a duffle bag of weapons, but they received the Time Tank, a tank outfitted with its own time travel device.
