Origin

Ailouros was born in Wakanda and was raised to be a member of the Dora Milaje. When they infiltrated a vampire cult, The Shifting Sun, she was bitten by a vampire and turned. Ashamed, she couldn't face her sisters again. She renounced her vow and her name as an apostate.

Creation

Apostate first appears in Avengers Academy: Marvel's Voices Infinity Comic #6 by Anthony Oliveira and Bailie Rosenlund

Major Story Arcs

Sinister Six

After a run-in with Bloodline from the Avengers Academy, Squid Kid recruited Apostate for his new version of the Sinister Six. Their first action was to break into OsCorp and kidnap Stanley Osborn for the goblin formula written into his genetics. Some of the members of the Sinister Six were not into kidnapping a child, but Apostate was offered a cure.

Stanley's brother, Normie, was a student at the Avengers Academy and talked his fellow cadets into recuing his brother. Fellow member, Mysteriant, worked with the cadets to set up an illusion to save Stanley and bankrupt Squid Kid. Without the resources to create a cure, Apostate leaves.

Promise of a Cure

Apostate was hired by Emplate to help him capture Escapade. In return, he offered her a cure for her vampirism, which Emplate lied about having. Apostate went to Atlanta, GA where she distracted Bloodline, so that Emplate and DOA could attack Shela. However, Shela did not come with Bri on this trip like they expected.

Instead, Safron, Bri's mother, recognized Emplate from when she used to hunt with Blade. They found him trying to feed, but since he wasn't a real vampire, Safron showed Emplate mercy. For that kindness from many years ago, Emplate gave up his pursuit, but Apostate demanded her reward anyway.

Upon hearing the cure was a lie, she swore she would be paid in blood instead. She lunged at Safron, but Safron was defended by both Bloodline and Emplate. After she was beaten, Apostate was taken to hell by DOA.

Powers, Abilities, & Weapons

Weapon Master: Apostate is a trained former member of the Dora Milaje. She is very capable with a number of bladed weapons.

Vampire: Apostate is infected with vampirism and has increase strength, speed, and endurance. It is assumed she has other powers related to vampires that she has yet to be shown possessing.
