Grotto appears on Daredevil as a mobster who worked for the gang known as Kitchen Irish. When the gang is gunned down by the Punisher, Grotto is the only survivor. He goes to Nelson & Murdock for help. They strike a deal with the DA for Grotto to where a wire and get one of his old acquaintances to admit he was dealing drugs. This turns out to be a set up, with the DA using him as bait for the Punisher. Grotto is later captured by Castle and forced to confess to murdering a innocent woman when working for Kitchen Irish. The Punisher then kills him.
