Gutterball decides to rob Lucky Lane's Bowling Alley, but unlucky for him, Spider-Man and Spider-Boy were near by and where there to stop the villain. Spider-Boy knew about Gutterball's tricks and "idestruct-o-ball head", but Spider-man had forgotten and nearly broke his hand while punching the crook.
This did give Spider-boy the chance to sweep Gutterball's leg and knock the robber down the bowling lane and though the wall, knocking him unconscious, just in time for the NYPD to show up and arrest the bowling theme villain.

On Earth 51778 Gutterball is King Bowler, one of Professor Monster's most prized BEM. He is in a battle with Takuya Yamashiro and his robot Leopardon when Takuya is wisked away to Earth 619 and replaced by Spider-Boy.
King Bowler is defeated by Spider-Boy and Leopardon. He then explodes but being a BEM he is not a real person and Spider-Boy is told not to dwell on it.
