Professor X-Tinction is a deranged clone of Professor X, created by The Jackal thanks to a DNA sample provided by a mysterious benefactor.

Creation

Professor X-Tinction was introduced in New Avengers (2025) #1 by Sam Humphries and Ton Lima.

Major Story Arcs

Killuminati

Bucky Barnes and Black Widow put together a New Avengers task force to investigate a secret lab in Russia surrounded by missing persons reports. To protect himself, The Jackal released his clones of the Illuminati, including Professor X-Tinction. X-Tinction jumped into action, trying to keep Widow occupied telepathically.

While Iron Apex and Bolt were killed by the New Avengers, X-Tinction teleported away with Guru Strange. They had for Hokkaido, Japan, where X-Tinction psychically feeds on the residents rendering them comatose. The New Avengers track them to Japan after recruiting Clea, who could sense Guru Strange.

Wolverine determined without Xavier's empathy, X-Tinction's telepath powers are weak. Using Black Widow's neuroinhibitor, she is able to slow X-Tinction down long enough for her to gut.
