Origin
Sparrow is the daughter of Orson Randall, the Iron Fist who was exiled for refusing to compete in the tournament of the seven cities. He never knew she existed since she was born after his exile. For his crimes, she was sentenced to man the secret bridge between K’un-Lun and man’s world. This bridge used science instead of magic, created by her grandfather, Phineas Randall, and allowed for undetected travel to and and from the heavenly city. She was also taught kung fu by her mother, who was taught it by Orson, a practice that was forbidden in K’un-Lun. After the death of her mother, she was adopted by Lei-Kung, the Thunderer of K’un-Lun.

The Tournament of the Seven Cities
Every 88 years, all seven capital cities of heaven align and can interact with the world of man at the same time. To celebrate this, the champions of the seven cities fight in a tournament. The winning champion wins his city’s chance to connect to man’s world every 10 years instead of every 88. Sparrow sneaked away from her post to pose as a servant girl to warn Danny Rand why her father refused to fight the first time. Using the bridge, she sends Danny to meet with Orson’s biographer.
When Danny returned, Sparrow and Thunderer showed him the revolution they had started. They had been training all the women of K’un-Lun how to fight, and now that Yu-Ti has become suspicious of Sparrow, war seems imminent. While Danny leads the Immortal Weapons against an invading force from out K’un-Lun, Sparrow leads the Army of Thunder to take out the Terror Priests before they could dismantle the Randall Bride.
With the current Yu-Ti defeated, Thunderer took the position of Yu-Ti, and Sparrow took the position of Thunderer. Danny encouraged her to choose a name, with her eventually taking Sparrow, the nickname Danny called her when they were kids.
Blinded
While training with a new student, Pei, Sparrow was confronted by Davos, who was leading yet another army against K’un-Lun, this time aided by The One, a mechanical beast who was once a test for potential Iron Fists, possessed by the corrupted soul of Danny Rand’s father. They quickly fought across K’un-Lun killing Lei-Kung and blinding Sparrow. Pei managed to escape to alert Danny, but Danny was overwhelmed by The One.
Luckily, Sparrow found and nursed Danny back to health with help from Fooh, the ghost of One’s creator stuck in limbo. The One had been siphoning chi from the residents of former K’un Lun, but Fooh re-directed it into Danny super-charging him. This was the One’s plan all along. He needed Danny to access the chi. The One used the chi to open a rift to bring Danny’s late mother back. He conjured Zhu Rong, God of Fire, instead.
Zhu Rong was a giant made of fire who wanted to punish humanity for attempting to cross the barrier between heaven and Earth. To fight him, Danny channeled his chi both through The One and Rand Tower, thus becoming a giant mech to defeat Zhu Rong, while Sparrow took on Davos and his army. When the dust settled, Danny took in Pei after she proved to be a potential future Iron Fist, and Sparrow accepted the position of Yu-Ti.
Contagion
While overseeing the rebuilding of the K’un-Lun, some workers found a hidden catacombs where an aggressive fungus called The Urchin was being imprisoned. It spread rapidly and jumped to New York City. Sparrow was forced to travel there and warn Iron Fist. They hit the streets where other heroes of New York City had already responded to the infection, which was turning some of its victims into violent zombies.
It was Moon Knight who ultimately saved the day, though. His multiple personality disorder allowed him to connect to the hive mind of the fungus without losing his wits and disconnect the infected heroes one by one.
The New Iron Fist
As Yu-Ti, Sparrow was looking after the egg for the next Shou-Lao. It was created in part by the power of the Iron Fist which Danny Rand relinquished in order for there to be more Iron Fist in the future. This generation of Shou-Lao went in a different direction. It chose a champion in need, Sword Master, rather than one chosen by K'un-Lun. As Thunderer, Sparrow trained Sword Master, who moved to K'un-Lun, occasionally leaving to hunt Chiyou demons and located shards of his enchanted sword.
Sword Master tracked the origin of the Chiyou demons to his long-lost brother, Lin Feng. He was joined by Danny Rand, still trained well enough to hold his own, to fight off the Chiyou demons. Sparrow was invited to join the fight, but it was a trap. Feng wanted Sparrow to open the door to K'un-Lun so he could invade it.
He retreated through the portal that Sparrow had opened and locked everyone out.
