Origin
When Bullseye found Makawalu she was cliff diving in Kawainui Falls. She had just used her powers to take the skills of the greatest cliff diver and was showing off to the crowd. Bullseye confronted her and when she read his mind, she thought he was a good guy.
Bullseye promised Maka that she would be able to enter the greatest contest and prove herself, something Maka had been trying to do by entering any tournament she could find, stealing the skills and beating the masters.
Bullseye trained Maka and gave her the alias Funhouse and had her attack, Spider-Boy, but when she took his powers, she couldn't control them and was forced to flee back to Bullseye.
Sometime Spider-Boy was removed from the Web of Life and everyone, including Maka forgot about him, but when he returned and everyone remembered him, Maka remembered him embarrassing her and looked forward to humiliating him in a tournament.
Creation
Maka was created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos for their series Spider-Boy. She later received her own book, Spider-Girl.

Powers and Abilities
Maka can steal the skills and powers of anyone she can make eye contact with. Unlike Rogue or other power stealing mutants, when Maka uses her powers the original person keeps their skills and powers.
Maka can also read the memories of the person she makes eye contact with but their memories are distorted and twisted like in a fun house mirror.
