Emil Kurjak was a young Bosnian engineer, when he was forced to become a soldier during the Yugoslav Wars. One day his squad is assaulted by a group of vampires led by the Master of the Night Gorka and to defeat them, he asks the help of Harlan Draka, who at the time didn't know about his true nature and pretended to be a vampire killer, to earn money and goods conning the villagers. In the end, after meeting Tesla, they manage to kill Gorka, and start their mission of freeing the world from the Masters of the Night.
