Atom fills his role as leader of the rebellion and during an ant stampede Taren takes his life. Everything is building up toward the battle at Morlaidn. The only thing is the mysterious figure who is sending information about the rebellion to Deraegis. Deraegis is planning to take over the kingdom during the battle.

Jean Loring also consummates her affair with Paul Hoben. The next day she gets a call that make her believe Ray Palmer is still alive. She then goes to Brazil to find Ray.
