Warren Worthington arrives at his and Betsy Braddock's apartment to hear a struggle within while Betsy, as Psylocke, battles Undercloaks from the Crimson Dawn!

Synopsis

Outside Archangel's penthouse, he hears Psylocke engaged with combat. He rushes to the skylight and bursts in to assist in the battle only to see Psylocke peacefully meditating. The astral form of Gomurr appears and threatens them that the benefits of the Crimson Dawn were not free.

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Shadow King gloats in his obtaining of Candra's heart. Storm reacts quickly and freezes the Shadow King's host, Jamil, in a mound of snow. While Candra tries to dig her heart out of the snow, Storm frees Karima. Both women are surprised when it appears that the Juggernaut rampages through the museum. With him suddenly gone, Storm and Candra fight over the right to possess Candra's heart. Cable then appears and embraces Storm while zapping Candra with the heart gem.

Storm wonders how Jamil is able to produce such vivid representations, when she realizes that the manifestations are really coming from Karima. (Karima had manifested Jamil as a friend and then, at her master's direction, manifested Jamil's powers to Candra as a way to help her find the heart.) With Karima shut down, Candra thinks she has a clear chance at getting her heart gem back, but it is blasted by Cyclops, who arrives with Jean and Wolverine. With her heart destroyed, Candra's body is destroyed. Storm takes Karima home.

In Hong Kong, Sebastian Shaw prepares to strengthen the Inner Circle.

Note: Jamil, the Shadow King, Juggernaut, and Cable do not appear in this issue but are merely manifestations of the mutant Karima.
