Creation

The Four was created by Rob Liefeld in 1992 and first appeared in Youngblood # 1.

History

The Four is a band of internationally known super-villains organized by a mysterious figure called The Never Man to carry out his bidding and act as a force of opposition to Youngblood. On numerous occasions, The Four have battled and been defeated by Youngblood, most recently during an attempt to free the previously captured Deadlock and Starbright from incarceration while en route to a maximum security prison. The entire team was captured and imprisoned until a clan of ninjas, lead by the enigmatic Showdown infiltrated the Pentagon in an effort to free them. Though members of Youngblood arrived on the scene, they were too late to stop Showdown from freeing Strongarm, Gage, Starbright, and Deadlock and, with the exception of Gage, the Four were able to escape. Gage was re-captured and imprisoned. Subsequently, Deadlock was killed ad then reanimated as part of Project: Born Again. He was part of Bloodstrike until their demise at the hands of Quantum, but his current status is unknown. The remaining members of the Four are still at large.
