Lighthouse Coven
A coven formed of three witches, Rochelle Pharus, Bernadette Kedlsy and Monica Hausley, with various abilities, who self police the supernatural.
Birth of the Lighthouse Coven
In the heart of Chicago, where the pulse of the city never wanes, the supernatural thrives in the shadows. The towering skyscrapers and bustling streets mask an undercurrent of magic and mystery that only a few can see. Among those few were three women destined to change the course of the supernatural world: Rochelle Pharus, Bernadette Kedlsy and Monica Hausley.
Rochelle Pharus had always been attuned to the mystical. Her family had passed down the gift of foresight for generations, and she could sense the ripples of magic that flowed beneath the city's surface. Her visions had become increasingly troubling—a surge of dark energy centered in Chicago.
Determined to understand the source of these disturbances, Rochelle reached out to Bernadette Kedlsy, an expert in ancient texts and rituals. Bernadette, a librarian by day and a sorceress by night, had an insatiable curiosity about the arcane. Her collection of grimoires and enchanted artifacts rivaled those of the most dedicated occultists.
The third to join their ranks was Monica Hausley, a hedge witch with a natural affinity for elemental magic. Monica's connection to the earth was profound, and she could sense the imbalance in nature caused by the influx of dark forces. She felt the cries of the spirits in the wind and the unrest in the soil beneath her feet.
The three women met in a Northside occult bookstore, their auras shimmering with power as they shared their findings. As they spoke, they realized that their individual talents complemented each other perfectly. Rochelle's visions, Bernadette's knowledge, and Monica's elemental magic created a formidable force. They decided to form a coven dubbed the Lighthouse Coven. Generally the ladies would meet to fellowship and study together, but during that time they witnessed many supernatural events and threats, with the big one being the vampire uprising and expulsion from Chicago, which they helped with by augmenting a larger spell being cast.
First Appearance
In Darc! #1 the ladies noticed a sudden influx of succubi in Chicago. These demonic entities, known for their seductive allure and ability to drain life force, had become increasingly corporeal, feeding off the desires and energies of unsuspecting victims. Bernadette's research came from the diary of another witch named Niana who had recently passed. The women decided to investigate, but still had no plan what to do if they found out something was about to happen. Rochelle knew a corporeal succubus named Dominique who aided with forcing the vampires from Chicago and decided to seek her out.
Meanwhile Bernadette and Monica went to investigate a spot where black magic rituals had taken place, but the relevance of this is yet to be made known. The ladies also discuss what policing the supernatural community would entail.
