Origin

Andria’s sister married and had a baby with the man they both liked. Still devastated, she prayed out to the gods to help her. Anhanga answered her prayer but said there must be an innocent blood exchange. So she went and killed her sister’s baby but it turns out he was talking about her blood. Her skin started shedding off, she turned into an alligator lady and named herself Cuca. He gave her a book of spells so she could become a powerful witch.

She is apart of Brazilian folklore but was introduced into DC comics by Joëlle Jones.

Major Story Arcs

Wonder Girl Annual 2022

She disguised herself as human named Alzira and mind controlled João to be her lover. She knew Yara was going to the festival for him. So when Yara found him, she was taken back when he introduced Alzira as his girlfriend. She sadly said she was happy for them, but Jacy and her other sisters saw right past Cuca's disguise. When they revealed who she was, Cuca dropped the disguise and started attacking. She started to go for Jacy but Yara shoved her far away from Jacy.

So Cuca started to shoot fire from her claws, setting the festival on fire. João and the Esquecidas with her started to clear out the civilians. While Yara fought Cuca. Cuca then told her this was revenge for her denying for them to join powers.(Wonder Girl #3 - Homecoming Part Three) Cuca also revealed while this was happening she was controlling creatures called Mapinguari to destroy Yara and the Esquecidas' home. This enraged Yara and fueled her fire even more to stop Cuca. When Cuca was captured, her control over the Mapinguaries was no more.

Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League

Her, Black Adam, Solomon Grundy, and Midnite was the group Klarion had made a deal with to give them the Power Bank once Cheetah's gang stole it. Little did they know that Cheetah and Cheshire had made him do the deal so they could use them as a distraction for the Justice League.
