Origin
Gaia whispered the idea of their creation to the moon goddess Yacy. It inspired Yacy, so she drew upon the well and created these divine women of the scared waters. Wearing necklaces of jade amulets, they maintain their matriarchal society through scared ritual. They dedicate their lives to protecting the land and preserving the balance of nature. Over time they became warriors of legends and inspired many people around the world with their example.
Creation
The first version of the Amazons from the Amazon Jungle were from remnants of Paradise Island and debuted in Wonder Woman #314 (April, 1984), written by Dan Mishkin and illustrated by Don Heck.
Rebirth
In DC Connect #6 (November 2020), the heroine Yara Flor, the Brazilian demi-god, debuts, her mother is an Amazon called Aella and her father, a Tupi-Guarani river god, she is a member of the tribe called Esquecidas (Forgotten in Portuguese), also called Coniupuiaras and Iamaricumã.
Yara Flor and the Esquecidas were created by Joëlle Jones, inspired by the myth of the Brazilian Amazons, also called Icamiabas, Iacamiabas, Iamaricumãs or Coniupuiaras.
Located
They live deep in the Amazon rainforest under a scared and mighty river. That's where you'll find the hidden world of Akahim, where they reside.
