A tarot card reader and resident of Hyde Street.
- Postcognition
- Precognition
Origin
In 1920, Clarissa Hood was working as a fraudulent fortune teller with her guilt-ridden sister, Lucinda. While discussing their future together on a walk, they wandered on to Hyde Street, where The Scorekeeper offered them a deal. One of them can become a resident, and the other can have their soul collected. Lucinda volunteered to be collected before Clarissa could manipulate her into it. Lucinda was turned into a bird that would stay by Clarissa's side until she completed her 10,000 soul collections. As she neared the number, Clarissa went from being one of the most effective collectors to one of the worst, not ready for her sister to be collected.
Creation
Sister Hood debuted in Hyde Street #5 by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis
Major Story Arc
Butcher of Hyde Street
Hood's tarot cards revealed to her that The Butcher of Hyde Street was planning an escape. Hood was essential to Butcher's imprisonment in the 1950s. First, she went to the castle of Matinee Monster (Oscar Oddman) where Butcher was imprisoned to warn him to stand guard. Meanwhile, she went to the sales office of Mr. X-Ray to confront him about his daughter's attempts to break into Hyde Street, weakening the magic that kept Butcher locked up.
